ESO: Beginner’s Joy

My brand new Asus ROG laptop arrived safe and sound, and I gotta say, I love it. I’d love it even more if I hadn’t been tricked into using OneDrive sync. Long story short, I suffered two major inconveniences of having my precious migrated files stored on a cloud and Microsoft nagging me to buy more space. What will I do in the event of having no internet connection and can’t access any of my files—oh, well, what a thoughtful way to help me catch up on all the reading I’ve been meaning to do! Of course I’ll bend to your will, Microsoft. Take all my crap and hold it hostage when I don’t remember to update my credit card expiration date.

After a couple of hours of migrating files again, the problem is more or less resolved, and I can enjoy my new laptop.

How else can I enjoy a gaming laptop if I don’t have a proper MMORPG? If you don’t have ESO yet, you can take advantage of the “weekend deal” going on until August 21st for 70% off the standard game. (I’m not being paid to mention that—just being a mensch.)

Look at that, I’m such a hardcore casual gamer, I got in 3.3 hours in two days, and I spent only 20 minutes making my Khajiit character. Even if the main storyline is the basic “defeat the fantastical Big Bad and save the world” plot, I’m still having fun. The scenery is beautiful, the action isn’t too frustrating…

… and there are cats.

I’m not lying, I lost my mind when I saw this little guy/girl strolling around Khenarthi’s Roost. Gawd, seeing it made me miss my little applehead cutie, Pepper. Is it too much to ask for a side quest where I go around the land petting all the cats? Besides the Alfiq, because they can mess you up? I’ll gladly pay full price for a Cat Quest DLC, as I’m sure most people would.
