My name is Ellie Coral. More accurately, it’s the online name I’ve chosen, though it’s fairly close to my legal name. I’m a YouTube junkie and cartoonist. I used to dabble in fiction writing, a community that made me very miserable and feeling defeated. Now I’m dipping my feet into the worlds of closet dramas and audio drama scripts, while doing the occasional comic.

This blog is a reflection of my varied interests and will document my explorations in the years ahead, or however long I decide to keep it going. It’s undergone a few makeovers, but from here on, this is more or less a permanent direction.

Since I don’t plan on keeping a schedule with this project, updates will happen whenever I’ve finished a post or feel like sharing something in the spur of the moment.

If you’re the voyeuristic type and this information isn’t enough for you, here are some more tidbits:

  • I live in the general Hampton Roads area and its surrounding bedroom communities. It’s analogous to New York City, only it’s made up of cities instead of boroughs, and they all hate each other. Being in the South, it gets miserably hot. We’re also a prime vacation spot for Northerners, Canadians, and the occasional hurricane.
  • I’m a Cancer and a millennial. If that’s too hateful of a term for you, then you can call me part of the Oregon Trail Generation.
  • I’ve been married to my husband since December 2007, and it still doesn’t feel like it’s been that long. We don’t have children and we’re keeping it that way, mostly because we’re afraid of what our genes will create.
  • I don’t consider myself religious, but I’m fascinated by religion, particularly early Christian mysticism. Yes, that’s a thing.
  • I make digital art in Procreate, but I’m slowly branching into hard pastels and watercolors because I hate staring at a screen for several hours.
  • I was an English Major in college. For some reason, people mistakingly believe that I should therefore be erudite, possessing extensive knowledge of the spelling and history of every word in the English language, as well as academically sophisticated in my various communications. I call these people morons.
