October. I have to keep telling myself that I decided to develop a tabletop game back in October.
Five months later, aside from a short manual I want to print out, everything is ready for the public to see… whether I myself am ready or not.

My poor Epson EcoTank printer got a workout these past few weeks. So much so, it’s now protesting when printing even a simple sheet of washi stickers for my personal journal. “Lost Communication” my foot, I’ll force a firmware update and make you Now I just need to finish editing my manual, print it, put it in a binder, and the game is in full public prototype mode.
I didn’t think I’d ever get this far with what was honestly an impulsive decision. But attending the Board Game Academics conference back in October opened my eyes to new ways of getting work out into the world. I’m especially looking forward to meeting other people in this field and finding all the paths that open through them. All the different games, the various formats, and potential bonds.
As for the box—and the human responsible—this is what we both look like.

That label could only be more handmade if I’d scrawled it on paper with a marker. I like to call this the Unpub at PAX East 2026 Scrappy Debut Playtest Version (whew). The future print-and-play final version will look a smidge better. Right now, it’s all about making myself uncomfortable and breaking some boundaries so I can start living the kind of life I’m actually happy with.
And, hey, you also have additional means of identifying me in the undulating mass of humanity. Well, you’ll know my hair, eyes, and choice of glasses style, because you’ll likely see me in a mask.
I suppose Unpub details would help as well: Friday, March 27th starting at 10:30am, Tabletop (Hall C), Block C.
Three whole hours. This will be the trial of the century for my introverted self.
