Playtesting at Unpub (PAX East 2026)

Note: I figured I need a post announcing my Unpub activity as well as any possible changes that might occur. This sticky post will serve as a gentle but persistent reminder. Any updates or changes will be made here.

Play testing at Unpub at PAX East 2026. March 27th starting at 10:30 am. Located in the Tabletop (Hall C) room in Block C.

A collaborative storytelling game set in Eximirene, a world where magick, both elemental and practical, are part of daily life… and spirits may either help or hinder.

You play members of the Regent Clover, a small group of magick users who serve as the long arm of Queen Elspeth. You’ve just returned from a mission and now you’re sitting down with the Steward of the Royal Records to explain what happened.

The problem is that memory is imperfect. Details were overlooked at the heat of the moment, missed, or outright ignored. Decisions were rushed. Magick behaved strangely. Spirits interfered. People, including your own teammates, were at their worst. And while the mission may technically be complete, the story of how it unfolded is messy.

That’s where the game begins.

What This Game Is (and Isn’t)

This isn’t a traditional roleplaying game. There are no stats, no combat, and no character optimization. It isn’t “D&D lite”, nor is it a high-stakes or competitive game. There’s no formal win condition (unless play testers suggest otherwise), no points to chase, and no pressure to “play well”.

L&L:TRC is a collaborative improv game, a low-stakes fantasy experience. It’s a game about memory, interpretation, and narrative play while trying to make sense of a world where magickal disorder isn’t just expected—it’s the norm.
