Note: The next three readings I’m doing on this blog are very specific, but, as always, you are welcome to learn from this, Reader.
You’ve done a lot of thinking and soul searching, Seeker, and it feels like you’re considering a major change. Whether that’s modifying your career or beginning an entirely new one, this decision has you thinking in loops… which means a lot of worrying.
Rather than attempt to make predictions about your future, in this reading, I’ll uncover some emotional clues and barriers, as well as pinpoint actions you can take.

The first card I drew is what I’m calling a focus. For this reading, this focus will discover what your priority is in your career change. Seven of Wands came up, pointing to defense, standing your ground, and facing challenges or opposition.
I’m already picking up that you feel like you’re in a struggle—and you probably are. It isn’t easy to modify or leave a stable career that’s given you comfort for over ten years. You may have to defend your own decision to others—friends, family, fans—and even yourself. This could be an internal battle where you’re questioning whether you’re allowed to want more or even have more.
But the Seven of Wands, while an intense card, also indicates that this is a fight worth enduring. I’m already picking up on a positive outcome.
Let’s see why standing your ground is a priority. In the second row, we have Page of Pentacles, Queen of Cups, and Five of Pentacles.
The Page of Pentacles demonstrates that you’re in a learning phase. While you may doubt the decision to change, you’re still curious. You might to learn more about yourself, what’s out there in the world, or what else you’re capable of. As a Pentacles card, it shows that there are opportunities out there—tangible, material opportunities that could be lucrative or emotionally fulfilling. It could even mean turning your curiosity and learning into actual rewards, such as security or companionship.
The Queen of Cups supports this. She’s a figure of compassion, support, creativity, and emotional maturity. Opportunities exist that speak to your heart and soul—something that could energize you, bring new life to your professional or personal life. Your emotional depth could be a key asset in your curiosity.
Don’t be alarmed by the Five of Pentacles. It’s a sobering image, but this is probably the most important card in this row. Your current career could be leaving you feeling bereft or unsupported. You could be surrounded by friends who now seem like strangers. It could even be that you’re aware of something in your career that jeopardizes the life you want. You need options that feed the core of your being—not rob it. And the stained glass of the church behind the two poor souls in this card is signaling something you must remember: you’re not alone, you have help, and you’re allowed to ask for it.
Protecting your decision to change your career is important because you’re growing into a deeper, more mature person—and your work environment can’t sustain the new version of you. In fact, where you are now could be stagnating the growth you need to experience.
Now let’s ask how you can protect this priority. For the last row, we have Nine of Wands, The Empress, and Ace of Pentacles. As you can probably guess, there’s going to be quite a bit of a struggle… both from internal and external source. You might get pushback from fans who want to preserve your persona in amber, family might question your choices, and you might go back and forth between charging ahead or retreating to the familiar. But as with every struggle, there is an end. As the Seven of Wands earlier showed, this is a battle worth going through.
The Empress highlights the need to care for yourself and find others who will support you. But I’m getting another layer from her. She’s a figure of creativity, abundance, and fertility. This change is worth going through because something more creative awaits you. Something that really speaks to you as a creator.
And it looks like the abundance factor of The Empress leads straight into the Ace of Pentacles. Real-world results are are not only possible in this change; they feel almost guaranteed. Whatever you find or make may grant you the prosperity you’ve been looking for, maybe a security you haven’t been able to find in your current career. This is a very positive card, and it speaks of a new, stable opportunity.
How you protect your priority is “keep on keeping on”, remembering to care for yourself and find your true supporters, and understand that you can uncover riches.
Which leads to the next row of cards.

I think it’s important to identify why you became successful in your current career. You’re a cautious person, and you want to plan for every possible contingency or disaster. As a result, you tend to overthink—and I believe this is contributing to your distress. You need to know what you found in this career that can be found in the next.
The Emperor shows that you can find or create structure. You’ve endured chaos and built order out of it. Whether you believe it or not, you are a leader. People look up to you and follow your words. This isn’t something that you conjured as a result of your career, and it’s especially not something you’re faking. You came into this career with this power. That’s why you’ve been able to maintain it for so long. In a rough field such as yours, that’s vital to longevity.
The Seven of Cups points to your ability to sift through multiple choices and find what appeals to you. You’ve made some hard decisions to pass on opportunities that, while lucrative, would have left you feeling gross or taken advantage of. You know what you want, and you know your morals. You possess discernment. Your community might not be as huge as others’, but it feels more authentic and organic. This card can also illustrate an ability to see through bullshit and recognize deception—equally just as important in your field (or any other field, for that matter).
The Tower card is very illuminating. You’ve gone through several changes—some that might have endangered your career or reputation. You’re resilient. What collapses others and forces them to quit, you’ve weathered. You’ve navigated platform changes, endured saboteurs, survived betrayals and upheavals. You’ve been made tougher and wiser. Moreover, you have the ability to do some damage yourself; once you find what’s no longer needed in your life, you can strike it down and expose the foundation to build what you really want.
You possess the ability to wrangle tangled situations and create order, then maintain it. You have options but you’re aware of your own desires and what you find nurturing. You can endure destruction and clear away the old.

Now let’s look at what can be carried over, what will follow you, or what’s repeatable in this new career of yours.
Three of Cups shows community and camaraderie. You make friends and acquaintances easily; you’re the type of person people flock to. You may be surprised and find that there are several people who want to follow you—friends also looking for a career change, lurkers who become collaborators, or fans who want to see you succeed.
The Queen of Wands shows that you’re a naturally bold person in your own quiet way. You’re confident (or exude confidence) and attract attention (good and bad) wherever you go. You have literal human resources, intentionally curated or otherwise. People are willing and eager to help you out in any way because of the aura that surrounds you.
The Eight of Wands shows that this support, and any changes you want to make, may arrive quickly. You may find that once you ask for help, people will rise to the occasion and offer whatever it is you need.
You have a community backing you up, and not because you’re a flashy character. You’re an authentic soul, and that energy natural radiates from you. You may find that the changes you want to make could happen sooner than you realize. I don’t think you’ll lose support when you make this change—I think it’s going to follow you, if not carry you.

Now let’s see what you should be on the lookout for while searching/researching possible new careers or changes to your current one.
Two of Cups and Two of Swords suggests that there could someone who is helping you. You’re approaching an emotional crossroads—if you’re not already there—and this connection will help you through the indecisions. This person watching and guiding you doesn’t just know you as a creator; they see past the memes, jokes, and content to see you as a human being. This person feels vital to your journey—don’t take them for granted or leave them out in the cold.
Three of Wands and Ten of Swords shows that expansion and exploration is needed. You’ve already started getting out of your comfort zone; you need to keep it up in some way. You need to tap into your curiosity and find what truly appeals to you—not your content, not your career, but you as a person. Admittedly, this won’t be easy; there will be grief and even mourning. You or members of your audience may feel like you’re betraying a part of yourself or your legacy. You may have to change or leave behind what’s familiar and feels safe. But you’re really releasing what’s holding you back. Remember, you do have supporters who will see you in the next phase; whoever leaves you at this point was never really had your back.
Lastly, King of Pentacles and Knight of Cups shows your own ability to support yourself. You’ve built stability, and it will follow you or you can rebuild it. You can literally afford the change you want to make, financially and emotionally. As opportunities start showing up, your intuition will alert you to the ones that speak to you. You won’t make any reckless leaps into the unknown, and you won’t have to overthink your choices.

Finally, what awaits you as you go on this career-changing adventure?
Six of Wands and Ten of Wands show that fulfillment, success, and victory are in your future… but it won’t be clean or easy. Yes, as stated before, you may struggle or encounter hardship. Money could be tight for a while, people you thought were supporters could abandon you, or the entire process could become exhausting. You may find yourself in a transition period where you’re juggling your current career and the new one, whittling away what can’t follow you. But the victory you’ll face at the end will be earned, and you’ll feel it deeply.
Death and King of Cups looks like a strange combination, but it’s a beautiful one. Death is ultimately about change, and you’re going to become a different person throughout all this. The King of Cups is a figure of compassion and maturity; positive masculinity; someone in touch with their emotions but doesn’t allow them to overtake them. You’re going to evolve into a better version of yourself, someone who doesn’t hide from their emotions, but uses them in this new life.
Finally, The Magician and Eight of Swords is another powerful combination. The Magician is brimming with power and possibilities, but the woman in the Eight of Swords is loosely bound. She’s not in peril; the danger is in her own head. She only needs to wriggle out of the limp bounds, throw off her blindfold, and step past the swords.
You’ll come to an important realization: you’ve been telling yourself the story that you’re stuck. You can’t evolve. What you’ve made is as good as it will ever get. You’re not capable of more. You’re not intelligent enough. There just aren’t more opportunities out there for you, so you may as well stick with this. You’re an unoriginal worm that just got lucky.
But the reality is that you have everything you need right now to get started—and you have the ability to gather more resources along your path. The fears were in your imagination all along. You thought you’d achieved everything possible in your life, and that you’d coast along until the platform imploded or your own end.
The fact that you want to change proves that you’re smart enough to know that change is possible. Intelligent people want to keep learning… and that is you. While luck may have had something to do with your success, it’s not the only factor. People checked out your material, but many stuck around because they liked the person you are.
Curiosity is probably the most important part of your journey. If you think you’re unoriginal, it’s because you need to explore more. You have plenty of originality, it just needs a spark of inspiration. Take a step outside of the spheres you call your home and look at other perspectives. You don’t have to adopt them, but you can at least know that they’re out there.
And I think you’ll find that many people who’ve been following you are just as curious to see what you’re doing next.

I should note that when I mention people following you, I don’t necessarily mean your audience. You have supporters in other areas: friends, families, fans who don’t make themselves known for reasons.
I dug a little deeper, but this post is long enough as it is. I’ll show you Part 2 of this exploration tomorrow.
In the meantime, rest easy, Seeker. There are good things ahead for you.
