Animatic in Progress: Twinny for Gas

Animatic in Progress: Twinny for Gas

A Toonsquid work area featuring a still image of a large, hooded man piloting a boat on the ocean.

I’m maybe halfway done with this. This animatic was a surprise even for myself, considering I’ve never watched this streamer before. On a whim, I checked out a VOD of his, found a moment after clicking through the video, and started imagining a slightly different set of circumstances. I’m having fun, and I hope future viewers will have more fun with the little surprises I’m including.

Two things I’d like to note:

  • This is my first time using a WEBP image, and the color is slightly different from the grungy green in the project. It doesn’t make a difference, but as an artist, I thought the “smidgen brighter than dull teal” was interesting.
  • I just discovered Callipeg Studio, which means I could possibly start creating animatics on my desktop for future live streams. This is the software I’ve been dreaming of ever since I gave up on other 2D animation software and stumbled my way through Toonsquid. It’s not hellaciously expensive, but I still wish they offered a trial version before forcing users to commit.
