Or Soul Has Nothing To Do With This
I have no idea if my fall allergies decided to make an attempt on my life, if I caught a cold, if my body reacted to trying to do too many physical things at once, a spiritual awakening purging toxins, or what. (If the last one is the case, can’t there be another fucking way of attaining enlightenment? If it was the physical aspect, I just wanted to go through my storage unit, goddamn.)
Anyway, some form of work was accomplished while I was recovering. Not enough to make me feel accomplished.

Obviously, the text won’t be in the final version, but this is about four days of constant working. Trying to litter a dirty tidal wave with junk. I work mainly in Procreate, but for the water effects, I had to go into Affinity and use the Frankentoon Concept Master Nature Vol. 1 brushes because nothing in Procreate was working the way I wanted.
Yeah, I did it all by hand. No, this will not be an internet feel-good story where I realize that a human touch beats a computer-generated option and struggle is the point of art because emotions and feeling and soul. This is one of those times when I wish I had something locally installed that could take one of my messy sketches, follow my directions while reading my mind, and create a foundation I could edit in real-time and then take over when I felt enough of the grunt work had been done. But I’d be crucified for doing that to my own art.
Yet there was a time long ago when many artists wished that kind of technology existed. Figures.
I’m now a week behind my self-imposed schedule and I have to catch up. I doubt I will.
Anyway, behold my carefully handcrafted tidal wave of waterlogged trash. I think I’ll make more intentionally ugly art after this.
